Can I get physical conversation therapy as well?

How can I pay?

You can pay with Vipps. Vipps is a digital payment service for smartphones and you have to download the Vipps application to pay.

How do I log in?

To log in to the user account, press the ‘booking’ button on our homepage, then the ‘login’ button located at the top right corner of your screen.

How much does a session cost at Cope?

A psychology session of 45 minutes costs NOK 1150. A drop-in session costs NOK 400.

I don't know what diagnosis I have - can you help me?

Our psychologists can help you with everyday challenges that affect your psyche, but they cannot make a diagnosis online. If you think you may have symptoms of a (severe) psychological disorder, contact your GP for further assistance.

I need urgent help - what do I do?

If you need emergency medical or psychological assistence, call the emergency service number 113 in Norway or 112 in Europe, or the emergency number in the country where you currently are.

What are your opening hours?

Cope is available all year round, except on holidays. Opening hours on weekdays are 08.00-22.00 and 10.00-18.00 on Saturdays and Sundays.

What can I expect from my psychology session?

If you book a psychology session, you will talk to your chosen psychologist about what you need help with. Our psychologist will help you to find better ways to deal with your challenges. The quality of our sessions is the same as regular, offline sessions.

What can you help me with?

We can help you with basic mental problems and/or everyday challenges.

What can't you help me with?

Are you suicidal or do you have thoughts of hurting yourself or others? Call the emergency room at 116 117 or 113. Cope is a service for people who need help coping with everyday challenges and alleviating mental health difficulties. We do not treat those in need of urgent help.

Can I use Cope abroad?

Cope is designed to allow you to talk to a psychologist from wherever you are. You can use the service from abroad when you want as long as you have a stable internet connection.

How does Cope work?

Cope is an online psychology service for those who need to talk to a psychologist quickly. We offer video calling with a licensed psychologist with short waiting times. On our website you can choose with which psychologist you would like to talk to. Book a session by logging in with BankID and paying with Vipps, and you will be called. It's as easy as that!

Is online therapy as good as a physical meeting?

Yes, there has been a lot of research demonstrating that the effect of online therapy is similar to traditional therapy.

Is there an age limit for using Cope?

In order to use our services without guardians, you must be over 16 years of age.

Can you provide medical prescriptions?

No, we can't give you any prescriptions. To obtain prescriptions, consult a physician.

Do I need a referral to talk to the psychologists at Cope?

Cope is a private psychology center, this means you do not need a referral to talk to our psychologists.

Do psychologists have a duty of confidentiality?

All psychologists who work at Cope have a duty of confidentiality. Exceptions to the duty of confidentiality are made only if there is an obvious danger to the client or others.

Do psychologists speak other languages than Norwegian?

Our psychologists also speak English.

Is it safe to talk to psychologists?

Our psychologists are perfectly safe to talk to. They are approved as authorized psychologists and meet the requirements set by the Norwegian Psychological Association.

What is an Online Psychologist?

An online psychologist performs the same tasks as a regular psychologist, but the session is held over a video-call on a PC or mobile. The only exception is that online psychologists cannot make diagnoses.

Can I book a session on behalf of my child?

Yes, but only if Cope receive explicit consent from the child's parent(s)/guardian(s) if the child is under 16 years of age. Your child can then engage in sessions through your user account. A separate and confidential journal entry will be made for the child in case of therapy sessions. Please enquire about the possibilities Cope can offer you before booking a session for children below 16 years of age via hei@cope.no

How long does a session with an online psychologist last?

One session lasts 45 minutes.

How many therapy sessions do I need?

It depends heavily on your individual circumstances how many sessions you need, and this is something you and your psychologist have to agree on together.
